When In ROME!
When I was in first grade, my mom went to Blockbuster (LOL) & picked up the Lizzie McGuire Movie for us. I have watched that movie well over 100 times since. Now fast forward 20 years & here I am throwing coins in the Trevi Fountain, making wishes, eating lots of pasta, drinking wine & seeing exactly WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF!
HOW TO GET THERE:
I loved our travel day! We flew from Nashville to JFK, then JFK to Rome! I always like/recommend taking the evening flights when traveling over to Europe. You can sleep on the flight all thru the night & by the time you land, you wake up just in time for lunch in a new country! This helps a TON with the time change adjustment as well. You can enjoy your day as soon as you land & keep your sleep schedule right on track!
Our AirBNB was partnered with a driving service, so we used her driver to get us from the airport & take us straight to the apartment we stayed in. I recommend asking your host or hotel concierge for their driver options! I personally feel more safe & secure, compared to grabbing a random taxi on the side of the road. This usually ends up saving some time too because you know exactly where to meet whoever is picking you up & you can get right on your way!
WHERE WE STAYED:
I found the cutest AirBNB that opened right up to a view of the Trevi Fountain! It is right in the middle of everything & we felt so safe! It was an apartment that belonged to the sweetest lady - she was so kind & helpful. She had a book of her favorite restaurants, places to go, directions & lots of other helpful info. We were walking distance from everything that we wanted to see & do. I LOVED our location & will absolutely stay in this area again!
WHERE WE ATE:
Short answer: everywhere we could!
I didn't catch the name of every place, because we did "food tour" days. We would get a drink & app at one place, do the same thing at another & then have a BIG ole meal at the next. This way we could explore lots of the city & try lots of different restaurants along the way. I jotted a few down, as well as some must-try favorites there in Rome!

WHAT WE DID:
When it comes to trips, I love to check Pinterest, Tiktok, friends recs & suggestions from yall for what to do & what to pass on. We only had three days in Rome so we wettest ankle to do everyone that we wanted to do BUT we still got to seee & do so much! I really appreciated the historic side of Rome & enjoyed getting to see all of the places that I have read about & seen in movies my entire life! Get tickets a day in advance for the Colosseum! We unfortunately did not get to go in because it was sold out, but it was still so beautiful to see! You can also go up the hill a bit by the entrance to snap the popular "Colosseum" photo like I have at the beginning of this post!
THINGS TO DO:
Exploring with no set plan is always my favorite way to travel because you happen upon new places, people & adventures you would have never seen or even thought of! I did however save lots of suggestions & must sees when visiting Rome, Italy!
The Colosseum
The Trevi Fountain
Pantheon
